The situation.
An owner-driver with eight years behind the wheel for someone else went out on his own, found the right truck in a private sale — and got knocked back because his ABN was under a year old.
Why it was stuck.
The first two lenders he tried apply hard minimum-trading-time rules. A young ABN plus a private-sale asset put him outside both policies, regardless of his experience or contract in hand.
The structure we arranged.
Placed with a lender whose policy prices industry experience and a signed cartage contract over ABN age, with a modest deposit to bring the loan-to-value inside policy. The private-sale paperwork — inspection, encumbrance check, payout of the seller's loan — was handled as part of settlement.
The outcome.
Approved within two days, settled in six, and the truck was earning under his own ABN the following week.
