Why choose X Lend for truck finance?

Whether it's a car licence truck for local deliveries, a pantech for a removalist or a tipper for a landscaper, we arrange the structure, most often a chattel mortgage, so you own the truck, manage GST and depreciation, and keep working capital free. New, used, dealer or private sale, we sort it.

Because we compare the whole panel, we can match low doc options to established ABNs and back newer operators taking their first truck. We explain the numbers in plain English, flag what moves your rate, and only submit once you're ready to proceed.

Low doc options

For an established operator, recent bank statements, BAS and trading conduct may support a small-truck assessment when full financials are not required.

Bodies and fitouts financed in

Pantech, tipper, tray or refrigerated bodies can often be wrapped into the same facility.

New, used and private sale

Small trucks can come from dealers, auctions or private sellers; each channel needs its own ownership, invoice and payout checks.

Many light rigid trucks can be driven on a standard car licence, which makes them a practical first truck for a growing business. Lenders treat them much like commercial vehicles, so established ABNs can often finance one low doc without full financials.

The relatively new company wanted to stop paying subcontractors for every tipper job, but the truck was a private sale and the business had a limited financial history.

Balloon payments explained

A cab-chassis, pantech, tipper or refrigerated truck can have different values and operating costs. The application should explain the complete configured asset, its daily workload and the operating budget that sits beside the repayment.

Body and chassis need separate detail

Provide the cab-chassis invoice together with the body builder, dimensions, equipment and cost.

Payload and licence class matter

Confirm the truck can legally perform the intended work and that the relevant driver requirements are understood.

Work evidence adds context

Existing routes, contracts or replacement needs can explain the purchase without guaranteeing approval.

Operating costs test affordability

Fuel, tyres, registration, insurance and servicing should be assessed with the proposed repayment.

Why the asset's age and condition matter

Kilometres, stop-start work, payload, body condition and maintenance determine useful life for light commercial trucks. In practical terms, this can change the deposit required, how long the loan can run and which lenders will consider the asset.

Tyres, brakes, tail-lift servicing, refrigeration and body repairs should be budgeted with repayments. These costs need to fit beside the repayments. The loan should also finish within the period the asset is expected to remain useful to the business.

How contracts and supplier payment dates can help

Delivery runs, retail supply agreements and service schedules can explain daily how much the asset will be used and revenue. Contracts, purchase orders and confirmed work can help show how the asset is expected to earn money and when customers are expected to pay.

If the small truck supplier needs a deposit, progress payments and a final payment, list each date and amount. This lets the lender reconcile the full purchase cost and arrange the payment stages correctly.

What should I have ready before applying?

  • Provide full body and chassis specifications.
  • Confirm payload and driver requirements.
  • Explain existing work or replacement need.
  • Budget repayment and operating costs together.

How we can help.

Illustrative examples of how we approach truck finance.

A newer business purchasing small truck

The business has a shorter ABN history and confirmed work that requires the small truck.

How your broker helps

We identify lenders that can assess recent account history, industry experience and contracted work, then present the purchase as one complete operating proposal.

What to have ready

Business bank statements, GST registration, signed work agreements, the supplier quote and evidence of the operator's experience.

Used small truck with age or usage

The chosen asset has material age, hours or kilometres and remains suitable for the work ahead.

How your broker helps

We document condition, service history, specification and resale support, then compare lenders whose end-of-term age policy fits the proposed term.

What to have ready

Service records, inspection details, serial or VIN information, photographs, the invoice and a clear explanation of expected annual use.

Growth purchase with incomplete financial statements

Current work supports the purchase while the latest full-year accounts are still being prepared.

How your broker helps

We list the documents already available, current debts and expected payment timing, then compare lenders that accept that evidence.

What to have ready

Recent bank statements, BAS, management accounts, an accountant letter, contracts, purchase orders and a schedule of existing finance.

A word from your broker.

At X Lend, we start by matching the funding term to the job the money or asset needs to perform. We then identify the documents and policy issues, choose a suitable lender and ask the customer to approve one considered submission.

See how arranging finance compares with waiting or paying the full cost upfront.

With truck finance

  • Put the truck needed for suitable work into service without waiting to fund the full cost from cash.

  • Preserve working capital for wages, materials and tax while arranging the truck.

  • Replace an unreliable or unsuitable truck before downtime and repair costs increase.

The cost of waiting.

  • Suitable contracts may be missed when the required truck is not available.

  • An older truck can keep creating downtime or repair costs while its replacement is delayed.

  • Buying the truck outright can reduce the cash buffer available for payroll, materials and unexpected costs.

Good finance.
Even better support.

Corey was excellent to deal with. He was able to get me a better rate than everyone else, he was very responsive, worked quickly and made the process very easy, even with me asking a million questions. I would definitely use him again next time.

I can’t recommend Corey from X Lend highly enough. From the very first conversation, he was professional, transparent, and genuinely focused on finding the best outcome for me. Corey took the time to explain every step of the finance process in a way that was easy to understand, answered all my questions promptly, and never once made me feel rushed or pressured. I really appreciated how proactive he was, keeping me updated, following up with lenders, and making sure everything stayed on track. What really stood out was how hard he worked to secure a great deal. He compared multiple lenders, negotiated on my behalf, and ultimately achieved a rate and repayment structure that exceeded my expectations. The whole process of purchasing my car was smooth and stress‑free thanks to their expertise. If you’re looking for someone knowledgeable, reliable, and genuinely in your corner, I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them. I’ll definitely be using their services again in the future :)

Corey helped me through the entire process of getting my dream family car! He was extremely prompt with his responses and had everything organised quickly and smoothly. I made a huge mistake by settling finance on the wrong car (a 5‑seater instead of a 7‑seater), but Corey was incredibly understanding and supportive. He contacted the dealership, lender, and even rearranged my insurance for me. He did all of this without ever making me feel like a hassle, even though I knew I was being a pain! Despite the setback, Corey stayed fast and efficient, kept me confident throughout the process, and managed to get everything cancelled and re‑approved for a higher amount so I could get my actual dream car. I highly recommend Corey. He speaks to you like a friend and genuinely has your best interests at heart. I already had quotes from Toyota Finance and Toyota Insurance, and Corey was able to get both significantly cheaper. Toyota Finance even reviewed Corey’s figures and confirmed they couldn’t beat them. I will never look to another finance company again.

Your truck finance questions.
Answered.

The details you want to know before taking the next step.

Are you a lender or a broker?

We're a finance broker: we compare 80+ banks and nonbank lenders and place your light truck finance with the best fit for your operation.

Can I finance a truck I can drive on a car licence?

Yes. Many light rigid trucks fall within a standard car licence, and we arrange finance for them just as we would any commercial vehicle. We'll match your unit to the right lender.

Can I finance the body or fitout too?

Often, yes. Pantech, tipper, tray and refrigerated bodies can frequently be financed as part of the truck's value, so the work ready unit sits under one facility.

Can a newer business get light truck finance?

Frequently, yes. Some lenders weight your industry experience alongside time in business. We present your deal to the lenders most likely to back a newer operator.

How fast can it settle?

Many light truck deals get a same day decision and settle within 48 to 72 hours once documents and any inspection are in.

What brands, models or purposes can truck finance cover?

Common examples include Isuzu N Series, Hino 300, Fuso Canter, Iveco Daily, Hyundai Mighty, UD Trucks. This is not a restricted list: the lender will still look at the exact item or purpose, the amount requested and your circumstances.

What documents can support truck finance?

A lender may ask for vehicle and body invoices, delivery or service contracts, bank statements, BAS, licence details, PPSR result. You may not need everything on that list. X Lend confirms what applies before anything is submitted.

How does X Lend work through a complex truck finance application?

For truck finance, we first confirm the transaction, timing and available evidence. We then explain the issues that matter, compare lenders whose rules fit those facts and show the proposed option before any application is submitted.
